Who is Juan Premoli?

Juan Premoli was born in Rosario (Argentina) in 1971 as a son of a Literature Professor and a Medical Doctor. Juan himself never thought that he would end up teaching Spanish ELE (Español Lengua Extranjera) in his mid 30's. After having graduated as an Electronics Engineer (UNR), as a Master in Business Administration (IDEA and York University, Toronto) and having worked for more than 10 years in several companies in Argentina and Canada, Juan decided to change his way of living and to start a new career path in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language. "I was raised surrounded by books. At home, there have always been more books in shelves than bricks in the walls and that explains my taste for literature and languages. It's not so surprising then that I ended up studying my language deeply and teaching Spanish with passion". Juan had the first students of Spanish as a second language in YorkU and Toronto Public Libraries in 2004. "In Canada, I found out that learning and teaching my language was perhaps one of the things I most enjoy doing in life". After returning to Argentina, Juan got his certification in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language in AADE (Asociación Argentina de Docentes de Español) and founded SpanishEcademy.com. "I wanted to continue teaching my students in a virtual learning environment. I'm proud to say that we've had more than 100 students in USA, Canada, England, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Israel, Finland, Netherlands, Australia, China and Hong Kong. I love communicating with people from different cultures and helping them to learn Spanish. I'm convinced that diversity and multiculturalism is what can help us human beings to survive. We must be tolerant of our differences. At the end, you realize that we are not that different. We all are from the same race: the human race". Since his return to Argentina, Juan has continued studying, attending congresses and workshops and working hard to improve his teaching skills and his knowledge of the Spanish language. He has had in person students from several countries like USA, Lithuania and Germany in Rosario that were usually in the city for other reasons, not specifically for learning Spanish. Now, Juan's goal and challenge is to invite and convince foreigner people to come to learn Spanish in Rosario as the main purpose of their stay.

Juan is a convinced and fanatic member of couchsurfing.org (Juan's profile at couchsurfing.org). "I love to make friends from all over the world, I love to show them my city and my culture as well as to host them at home whenever possible. I like to go to cultural events in my city and to travel with friends. I enjoy swimming, kayaking, running, hiking and biking. I'm trying to learn how to dance Tango. It has not been that easy so far, though."

References about Juan Premoli and his teaching style:

Says Juliane Bock:

“Juan was my Spanish Teacher while I was studying in Rosario, Argentina. I didn’t have to fit into a defined class, Juan just adapted to my level of Spanish and provided me with lots of material to study. I really liked that I could always ask him any question, even if it wouldn’t fit into the class of that day he would answer me at length. Juan was not only my Spanish teacher, he was also a friend and he helped me more than once with information about various things and once even with a ride to the bus station in the middle of the night when there were no taxis at all! Thank you for everything! Nos vemos!” April 6, 2010

Says Julia Tebben:

"Juan almost single-handedly made my study abroad to Valencia, Spain feasible. Over a period of around a year, we talked over the computer a few times a week, for no more than an hour. His lessons, which included both language and cultural insight, were relaxed, engaging, and fun! He is extremely accommodating to your personal schedule, and in all honesty, I don't know how he does it. Juan, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart"

Says Mike Brown:

"I was a little hesitant at first because of the whole lack of face-to-face time. But after the first free lesson I knew that it wouldn't be a problem. Since then I have been having 2 lessons per week and if I have ever had a problem with 'attending' a lesson I have just sent Juan an email, and it has been totally fine. Spanish lessons with Juan from my living room have been so much better than having to go to a language school after work. Juan is a really nice guy who is very easy to get along with. I can't wait to get back to South America and have a beer with him and those reputable lindas chicas de Rosario!!"

Says Jeremy Jones:

"After living in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 8 months and returning to the U.S., I was very interested in further developing my Spanish language skills. I posted an ad on Craigslist hoping to find someone local, but instead was contacted by Juan about taking online classes with him, and he actually lived in Argentina - perfect for me! I was intimidated at first to take classes online because I wasn't confident about my listening skills, but Juan made every class very easy to understand. There were many things I enjoyed about my classes with Juan. To begin with, he knew that the main place I would be speaking Spanish was Argentina, so he catered the classes to use the words, phrases and pronunciations that are used there. Juan was always very prompt in beginning our classes and administered the class so productively that the time flew by. Juan was very organized and always provided homework to coincide with our lesson and ensured I understood every aspect before moving on to a new topic. I recently took another trip back to Buenos Aires and my friends there were amazed by how much more I understood than when I was there before. If you want to take private Spanish lessons in the convenience of your home, or wherever you happen to be, with an extremely qualified native speaker, Juan is the person to contact!"

Says Aditi Bhagwat:

"I have been learning Spanish with Juan for the last 6 months now. It all started when I was looking for a convenient and effective Spanish class on the net. That's when I stumbled into Juan. I didn't really have any recommendations at first and hence was hesitant to start with it. However, his trial class put me completely at ease and I was eventually looking forward to the lessons. What better way of learning Spanish than from a native speaker and that too one to one basis? His personalised yet professional approach makes learning fun. He makes sure to keep the learning going with enough homework through the week. On the whole, I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone whether looking for an online option or not."

Says Mike Hardenbrook:

"When I began with Juan I had never used the internet to learn. To my surprise, it far exceeded face-to-face meeting effectiveness. I found the ability to send and receive data files, photos, and video clips in an instant made it a fun and rapid way to learn. Plus, I am able to learn from the comfort of my home at a time that works with my busy schedule. Juan as an instructor has been a godsend for me. I was one of those people who always figured learning another language was a pipe dream. In a matter of months, Juan has developed my basic knowledge into being conversational and on my way to becoming fluent. I work in the Construction trade and his instruction has proved to be invaluable, allowing me to communicate with my Hispanic Co-workers in Spanish. I recently travelled to Guatemala and didn't speak a word of English the entire trip! He is a genuine teacher who is dedicated to teaching his students in a fun and patient manner. Juan can help make your desire to speak another language a reality. Thanks for everything Juan"
